Peter has some 30 years experience in evangelisation, catechesis and religious education. Before coming to CIS he was the Manager of Studies at the Catholic Adult Education Centre, and Adjunct Lecturer in Theology at the University of Notre Dame, both in Sydney. Peter recently completed his Ph.D. with a thesis entitled Heart to Heart: The Spiritual Christology of Joseph Ratzinger, for which he received the Australian Catholic University’s 2013 Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in the Ph.D. Thesis.
Peter is a member of the Emmanuel Community (Communauté de l’Emmanuel), a community of lay people, priests and consecrated people within the Catholic Church. As a member of the Community, he has been involved in various evangelistic outreaches: prayer meetings, parish missions, mercy nights, Zacchaeus (a course on Catholic social teaching), Love and Truth (a marriage enrichment program), youth outreaches, an international youth forum, WYD 2008 and street evangelisation. He has been a lecturer at the Emmanuel School of Mission in Manila. Currently, he serves as a spiritual and theological formation provider to community members, and is a member of the leadership board of the Community in Sydney.
Peter is married, and has two children.
